emthani is a library platform that connects students who want to buy and sell study notes.

Important: emthani does not:

• Create, verify, or endorse any content
• Guarantee the accuracy or quality of notes
• Have any affiliation with universities or educational institutions

All notes on this platform are user-generated content uploaded by students and teachers.

By using emthani, you agree that you are solely responsible for:

• Content you upload: You must own the rights to any notes you sell
• University rules: You must comply with your university's academic integrity policies
• Egyptian laws: You must follow all applicable laws in Egypt regarding education, copyright, and commerce
• How you use purchased notes: Notes are for study support only

You are responsible for ensuring your use of this platform complies with your university's policies. Some universities may restrict selling or sharing notes.

emthani is designed as a study support tool to help students learn from each other.

No Guarantees:

• We do not guarantee any specific grades or exam outcomes
• Notes are study aids, not substitutes for attending classes or completing coursework
• Academic success depends on your own effort and understanding

emthani uses credits to make it easy for students to unlock notes on the platform. Credits are a promotional feature that recognises participation. They carry no monetary value:

• Credits are not currency. They cannot be exchanged, redeemed or converted into cash or any other payment.
• Credits cannot be transferred, sold or gifted between users, and cannot be assigned or inherited.
• Credits create no right to payment, revenue share, ownership, or any other benefit outside the platform.
• emthani may change how credits are earned, adjust balances (including corrections for fraud, abuse or mistakes), introduce expiry, or discontinue credits entirely at any time.
• Where credit purchases are enabled, they are non-refundable. Sellers earn credits when their notes are unlocked, and any future payout schedule and methods will be communicated to sellers.

The displayed "≈ EGP" figure next to a credit balance is an informational reference only, not a promise of cash-out. Payouts are conditional and covered in section 10.

emthani is provided "as is" during testing.

emthani is not liable for:

• Academic consequences (e.g., failing grades, academic misconduct charges)
• Disciplinary actions from your university
• Inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading content in notes
• Technical issues, data loss, or service interruptions
• Financial losses related to credit purchases or sales

You use this platform at your own risk and accept full responsibility for any consequences.

emthani reserves the right to:

• Remove any content without notice or explanation
• Suspend or terminate accounts that violate our Content Policy
• Withhold payouts if we suspect policy violations

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Egypt.

Any disputes arising from the use of this platform will be resolved under Egyptian jurisdiction.

emthani may update these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the platform or email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

We recommend reviewing these terms periodically to stay informed of any updates.

emthani is currently in Early Access. Everything on the platform described as planned, upcoming, coming soon, on the roadmap, or in a future phase, including any future library, buyer top-ups, seller earnings, cash-out, ambassador benefits, or partner events, is a statement of our current intention only. It may change, be delayed, or be abandoned. No user is entitled to compensation, credit refund, damages or any other remedy if a planned feature does not launch or launches in a different form.

During Early Access, credits are earned through the referral programme, the ambassador programme, and genuine study of notes (learning credits), not through library sales. The library side of credit earning will open only if and when the platform matures to support it.

• Ambassador tiers, thresholds, badges and any associated benefits are subject to change during Early Access. emthani may adjust the programme as needed to prevent abuse or as the platform evolves.
• Cash-out of credits is not currently available and is not guaranteed to become available. Payouts will only open if Early Access proves the platform can support them, and emthani will confirm the exact payment methods available in Egypt at that time.
• Credits earned today accrue to your balance and, consistent with section 4, remain a promotional feature with no monetary value until (and unless) payouts open. If the payout system does not launch, emthani may, at its sole discretion, and without any obligation to do so, offer equivalent value through other means (e.g. credit spending on the platform).
• Referral and ambassador attribution requires the referred student to (a) sign up using the referrer's shortlink or code, and (b) confirm their email. Attempts to game the system through fake or throwaway accounts will result in credits being reversed and may lead to programme removal.
• Public ambassador and student leaderboards show first name and last initial plus faculty only. emthani never publishes email addresses or contact details of ambassadors or students.

emthani supports two contributor account types: <strong>students</strong> and <strong>teachers</strong>. Both can upload notes, and everything uploaded is treated as user-generated content under these terms. A teacher account is optional and self-declared; emthani does not verify institutional employment, and a teacher account does not imply that the teacher's employer or institution endorses, sponsors, or is affiliated with emthani, nor does it extend to grading, evaluation, or official academic instruction.

The optional "professor" tag on a note remains a free-text label a contributor may use to indicate which course or instructor a note relates to. It is separate from a teacher account and does not, on its own, imply that professor's involvement or endorsement.
